I have to laugh, because I just recalled that I called a friend and told him to get Battlecry when I started playing it and how he got in trouble with the war department - his wife because he was playing it too much, it's a phenomenal game!


Steve Fawkner the Battlecry developer used gamers suggestions as to what they wanted in a game to invent it and Wow did he make a break-thru!

Artificial intelligence by Roger Keating.

- When you play a solitaire game, you can bet the computer is going to give you a challenging go round, because Mr. Keating's A/I is the best in the world and he did a great job on "BattleCry"!

There are nine different races to play.

- Keep trying a new one, until you find your favorite, or you can take the human race and take them all on.

The game has ninety unique units.

- Once you have chosen your Hero he is with you thru every battle and gains strength and abilities as with each game.

The game also includes archers, mages, siege weapons, and ships.

- The mages can be your secret weapon, they are very effective against both ground and units in the air.

The game has over forty unique buildings.

- Because each race has it's own unique buildings.

There are numerous skills to upgrade your armies and buildings to as you go. Also, Hot Text is available through out the game. Hot text is a brief description of game interfaces that is activated by placing the mouse cursor over a screen element.

- As you upgrade your Palace you armies and other buildings are also upgraded.

There are over eighty spells with spectacular effects.

- Because the spells can mean the difference between victory and defeat when you find yourself out numbered.

There are eight different formations to control your troops.

- Choosing a good formation can mean the difference between victory and retreat whether you are advancing on the enemy or defending your base.

Victory Conditions......

- There are thirteen different victory conditions in the game, my personal favorite is Fortress because it means when you destroy an enemies Palace he is defeated, for me this is medieval war games
for the computer at their best!

Quests....

- There are hundreds of different Quests for you Hero to complete.

Game Editor......

- This gives you the ability to create your own fully customizable Scenarios. This can be great fun, because you will be surprised at what you can create.

Your hero becomes an extension of you, as you create and develop the hero.

- Because he will be with you through every battle.

Your heroes characteristics are retained between scenarios, campaigns and multiplayer games.

- This makes the game very interesting and fun for you. When it comes to medieval war games for the computer BattleCry is a game you will never tire of as your Hero gains strength and experience, you do also.

In addition you can carry armies, with your hero, between any two scenarios

- This is called the Hero's retinue and they are a real asset for you in the game.

Highly detailed 3D effects like particle effects and real time lighting allow for day/night cycles and accurate weather modeling

Network play with up to 6 players on the Internet.

- Network play can be a lot of fun even against one other player.

By building Walls and Towers around your base camp occupied with bowman you create a formidable defense - just some of the fun playing BattleCry.

- Because Towers can really give your base defense strength, or you can you can choose to use your own troops for that defense.

A/I that provides realistic competition (AI doesn't cheat). Enhanced A/I allows team play vs. computer A/I and custom victory conditions.

- This is what makes Solitaire play in the game so challenging.

Your Hero's command radius allows heroes to extend bonuses to surrounding units

- Because this is where your hero's presence has a direct effect on his troops abilities in battle.
